OTHER LOCAL EVENTS & EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS
The Door Garden Club encourages its members to take advantage of the many wonderful garden-related educational opportunities in the community which are sponsored and hosted by similar organizations such as Master Gardeners, Wild Ones, the Ridges Nature Center, Crossroads at Big Creek, and the various local state parks, to name a few.
University of Wisconsin Extension Master Gardeners Program
The Universtiy of Wisconsin Extension Master Gardener Program supports a network of individuals dedicated to horticulture education, service, and lifelong learning. Through university research-based horticulture training, they are equipped to address needs and opportunities in their community and throughout the state.

A significant number of Door Garden Club members have completed a Master Gardeners Program course in Wisconsin and in other states. Their knowledge is a much appreciated asset to the club and community.

* The Door Garden Club is not affiliated with the The Door County Master Gardeners Association, a nonprofit organization which functions as a club similar to the Door Garden Club, but is exclusively for individuals who have completed the Master Gardener course and maintain a minimum number of volunteer hours.
University of Wisconsin Extension Master Naturalist Program
The Wisconsin Master Naturalist program is a network of well-informed volunteers dedicated to conservation education and service within Wisconsin communities. Master Naturalists learn from experts out in the field and inside the classroom and gain knowledge and resources to address environmental challenges facing the state. Training opportunities are located at host organizations across the state, such as state parks, college campuses, environmental education centers and museums. Master Naturalists perform volunteer service through stewardship, education and citizen science projects that are directed by host and partner organizations.
