Door Garden Club 'Tablescapes' Flower Show Delights!

People came to the flower show at the Kress Pavilion in Egg Harbor Tuesday, July 26 to see the ten tablescape floral design entries created by local professional and hobbyist designers and to enjoy a floral design demonstration. The ten Tablescapes were sponsored by Piggly Wiggly, The Ginger House, Lucky Stars Flowerfarm, Arbor Crowne Properties, Petal Pusher Floral, Wendy Walker, Sonja Durkee, Rose Bykowski, Mary Beth James, Kathi Whiteside, and Julie Watkins. MaFolie Flowerfarm donated flowers for the demonstration.

The show was arranged by the Door Garden Club, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed in April 2023. The club's purpose is to appreciate, learn, share, and support the beauty, value, and conservation of plants, gardens, parks, and green spaces.  Approximately one-fourth of the club's members have completed a Master Gardener course offered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Extension Service of the University of Wisconsin or by the land grant university of a different state.

The next club meeting will be held Tuesday, August 20, at Write On Door County in Juddville. Ray Rogers, Garden Club of American Horticulture Judge and member of the Town and Country Garden Club in the Sheboygan and Kohler area, will present the program 'Hort for Flower Shows'. Anyone is welcome to attend, but sign up on the club's website is required as space is limited. Participants are encouraged to bring one or two cut flower stems from their garden or patio pot, in water in a glass bottle.

Proceeds from the flower show benefit the Door Garden Club's Small Green Spaces grants and Scholarships programs. Find more information about the club and pictures of the flower show at doorgardenclub.org.
